My list of past projects

The Barry House Re-Level: Shaun Barry is a construction engineer for a large Construction Firm Based In San Francisco.  He purchased this investment property to fix up as he lives on location where-ever his employer sends him.  The property was in dire need of attention as the exterior basement walls have no footing under them.  Well that was at least until we started re-leveling the house.   Phase one   re-level the kitchen. Summer 2006 will bring a very nice level kitchen and new basement floor.  The reinforced basement walls and new 30' of footing will hold the wall as intended originally. See the kitchen short movie

The Hodovance project:  A dead rat in the wall started this kitchen remodel.   I completely demolished the kitchen. I then plumed, electrified, insulated, sheet rocked, taped and finished, painted, installed the cabinets, put down sheet vinyl flooring, installed millwork and ran crown mold. See the pictures here.

The Les & Sally Flickenger project:   My friend Les built the families new house in Stayton Oregon. I helped with some of the rough construction. Helped with the deck and roof.  Months later I came back to install underlayment through out. I ran extension jambs for each window, and hang casements. I hung all the doors, trimmed the entire house, installed the steam room, stainless steel hood vent, helped design the mantle, installed the mantle, assisted in painting the exterior of the house, completed siding, sofits, and built 3 counter tops.

The Spierling Estate: Mr. Spierling is a great friend and a good carpenter in training. We work side by side to help him control expenses and maintain the integrity of the original charm  of this house.   Mr. Spierling has made some wonderful choices in material and colors.  The porch was ready to fall down the day he took possession of this charming 1920's house.  This is an ongoing project phased to comply with his needs.  See the pictures here.

Chip & Gretchen Thompson home:  Saved 40 percent using CarpenterKarl   Original bids where 10,000.00  the work was completed at a grand total of 6,000.00. The Thompson's saved 4,000.00 and got exactly what they wanted.    A great investment this house needed some love.  The interior had been abused ie. holes in doors and walls.   Mr. & Mrs. Thompson spent many nights and weekends bringing this house back to its original condition. They replaced all the interior doors. In the end they had me come in and run new 4" baseboard throughout the second floor, complete replacement of door trim and add 2 transition thresholds. On the outside I completed the new deck Chip and his friends had begun and re-built the front entry stairs. The last of the work was to install the pickets under the handrail on the main deck. Mr. Thompson thought that the work was too nice to give to me so he completed it himself after I was done and gone.   (Icing on the cake) who can blame him..  Well played Chip......The Thompson's selected #1 clear Cedar for the deck and stairs  a very nice choice as the pictures will show you....   See the pictures here.

The Lemonz project:   See the pictures here.   For 13 years I installed this kind of institutional case work all over the Pacific Northwest.
